In 2015 Ronny Ymbras flew with two of his sons, Matthew and Zachary to France then drove up to St Mere Eglise to take place in a WWII Reenactment Jump at the Hemevez DZ (drop zone).

This is a very small town about 20 minutes outside of St Mere Eglise where the 82nd jumped on D-day along with the British.

Unfortunately seven paratroopers were blown off of the DZ landing next to a German camp. They fought it out but ended up being captured and executed by German Forces. Also known as the Massacre at Hemevez

Vietnam Vet Talks about Problematic WW2 Reenactment Jump

Vietnam Vet & Author of Fallen Never Forgotten: Vietnam Memorials in the USA Ronny Ymbras talks about the time he did a WW2 re-enactment airborne jump in Hemevez, Normandy, France. This is a drop zone where a number of 82nd Airborne were executed by German forces after landing.

During this jump things got a bit dicey when a jumper in front of Ronny got knocked unconscious and landed next to him in a backyard after they were both blown off of the DZ.
